1956

Company established by Heinrich Schäffer.

1960

Launch of the harvesting fork, combined fork and beet fork production for front loaders.

1963

Production of the first front loader for agricultural tractors.

1970

Development of the “SILOREX” silo removal system.

1972

Currently 50 employees. Participation in national and international specialist trade fairs. Development of the first industrial front loader with parallel guide.

1979

Development of the first D25 compact wheel loader (28 PS), a crucial moment in the company’s history. The first loader with hydrostatic drive and quick-release system.

1980

New development of a complete production system with a facility covering 6,400 square metres as well as an administration facility with 1,000 square metres.

1981

Following the death of Heinrich Schäffer, Jürgen Jachalke and Siegfried Schäffer take over as managing partners of the company.

1987

Development of the first model 860 wheel loader for use outside the agricultural sector.

1990

A new sales office that serves the eastern German market opens in Döbeln, Saxony.

1996

Development of the first telescopic wheel loader with articulated joint, the 870T.

2008

Construction of a new factory and paintshop. The first machines roll off the new assembly lines.

2010

The first SLT farm loader with a particularly low design height.

2013

Family member Rüdiger Schäffer is appointed to the management board.

2014

The sales structures are reorganised into separate agricultural and construction sales teams and dealers.

2017

Presentation of the 23e: The world’s first electric yard loader with lithium-ion battery.

2022

Presentation of the 1622, first loader of the 1,000 series.
