Bauma 2016: our thanks to all visitors – expectations exceeded
With some 580,000 visitors from 200 countries, this year's Bauma again demonstrated its role and significance as the world's leading trade fair for the construction industry. Schäffer was among the 3500 exhibitors. The results of the trade fair are extremely positive, and in fact, the Westphalia-based manufacturer's expectations of the event were far exceeded.
On some 400 m², Schäffer presented eleven of the 20 machines in its offer for the construction industry. "We would like to thank the numerous dealers and customers, both from Germany and from abroad, who visited our stand. We were able to make a lot of new contacts and to conclude more transactions than expected, which encourages us to look to the future with confidence," reported managing director Rüdiger Lohoff. There was a definite trends towards compact but extremely powerful wheel loaders. "Visitors from the worlds of horticulture and landscaping in particular were extremely impressed by our flexible compact loader. With a service weight of less than 2.5 t, they are able to safely transport complete pallets of slabs", he continued.
The excellent manoeuvrability and optional low construction of machines is becoming more and more important as gardens get smaller and smaller, was the overriding opinion of landscapers and garden designers. Visitors were also to witness this for themselves in impressive machine displays on the demo site.
However, the focus wasn't only on the compact machines. Two of the three new wheel loaders with Z-cinematic, the 5650 Z and the 6680 Z, were introduced at the bauma. And for the first time, the 5650 Z has electric drive control, which greatly increases its efficiency. The machine for the 0.8 m3 class has a maximum lifting height of 3.40 m, and at up to 2.5 t its tipping load is also on a very high level. Also introduced were the Schäffer telescopic wheel loaders which, with a service weight of up to 13 t and a loading height of up to 6.10 m, are designed for the highest requirements, such as those of the recycling and waste disposal industry.
