Wheel loader 9300 Z

Schäffer 9300 Z with very strong test results

The 6-ton class loaders are an important market segment. These machines are sold in the construction industry in large numbers. And their importance is growing in agriculture, as more and more farmers replace the front loader tractor by these agile and efficient machines. Total 6 wheel loader manufacturers faced the well-known opinion of the magazine "top agrar" (issued October 2010).

Schäffer sent the 9300 Z to compete against following other machines:

Cat 907 H
JCB 409 Agri
Liebherr 509 Stereo
Terex TL 100
Weidemann 4070 CX

The Schäffer 9300 Z scored: "With more than 3,80 m lifting height, the loader got the highest value in test. With a tipping load of 3,8 tons in 90 cm height and fully articulated he stays also ahead ". The 9300 Z raised 740 kg more than the second best machine in this category lifted the load 58 cm higher. The measured tipping loads were very different: The loader with the lowest tipping load was 1360 kg or 36% less than Schaeffer.

Even with the pushing power the 9300 Z earned much praise: "The Schaeffer scored 5.8 tons daN in the measurements and was far ahead”. Here too, the distance to the second best machine was huge with exactly 1.0 ton daN.

With 80 kW the 9300 Z was far better motorized than the other machines. However, if you would expect higher diesel consumption you would have been wrong. The 9300 Z loaded 115 tons of gravel and consumed 10.3 litres of diesel, earning the position of the loader with "the lowest diesel consumption." The savings potential is very high in comparison: All the other machines burned an average of 13.0 l, the worst single figure was 15.0 litres of diesel.

The height over cab of the Schäffer 9300 Z was 2.50 m only. The testers rated the manoeuvrability as follows: "With 7.6 m turning circle, the machine is very agile despite its size. Since the loader can swing in the middle the rear axle is designed as an oscillating axle.”

Overall, the 9300 Z has hit well in this test. It stands for the strategy Schaeffer, to build outstanding compact loader with as much force as possible. Here again in the summary:

Schäffer 9300 Z offers:
- The best pushing power (26% better than average)
- The highest lifting height
- The highest dumping height
- The largest tipping load (24% better than average)
- The most powerful diesel engine
- The least diesel consumption (20% less than average)
- The second-best turning circle (and agility)
- The lowest height over cab
